The Substitute and Teacher Recruitment, Development and Education (STRDE) Program, formerly the STAR Program, recruits and trains individuals interested in substituting in Sarasota County Child Care Centers. Substitutes receive training and resources to use in the classroom. Child Care Centers receive a list of trained, qualified substitutes to call when teacher absences occur, saving directors time and money every month.
